Event Description:
Practice​ ​Rounds:​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​Thursday, September 14, 2017 at the Purple Sage Golf Course Call Scott Ehlers at (307) 789-2383 after September 1 st for a Tee Time. Coach’s​ ​Meeting:​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​Following the practice rounds on Thursday, September 14 at 6:00pm. Coaches Meeting will take place in the restaurant area of the Golf Course. Coaches will be briefed on procedures for the State Tournament. This will also be the meeting for coaches to discuss coaches issues or ideas pertaining to golf moving forward. Evanston High School Activities Director, Bubba O’Neill, will take notes and report this information to the WHSAA. Driving​ ​Range: September 14 – open at 9:30am. ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​September​ ​15th​ ​&​ ​16th​ ​–​ ​open​ ​90​ ​minutes​ ​before​ ​play​ ​begins. Range balls will be provided. Meals: There will be a tournament buffet at the Coach’s Meeting on Thursday evening, Sept. 14th at 6:00pm. A hospitality room will be provided for workers, bus drivers, and coaches throughout the tournament on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 15th and 16th. A grab and go lunch will be provided at the turn of the 1​ st nine each day, from 11:00am to 2:00pm. There will be a charge of $5.00 per player for this grab and go lunch each day… please let Dauna Bruce, Evanston Assistant Activities Director, know how many players you plan on taking part in this lunch and we can send your school an invoice. Packet​ ​Pickup: All coaches will be briefed by Meet Director, Scott Ehlers, at the Coaches Meeting Thursday, Sept. 14th. Start​ ​Times: Friday, September 15th, 2017 Start​ ​Times​ ​begin​ ​at​ ​9:30​ ​am​ ​with​ ​double​ ​tees Saturday, September 16th, 2017 Start​ ​Times​ ​begin​ ​at​ ​9:30​ ​am​ ​with​ ​double​ ​tees No participant will be permitted to play the course on Friday or Saturday before his/her tee time. Driving Range, putting green, and chipping greens are available for players. NO SPECTATORS are allowed on these areas. So please let your spectators know. Dress​ ​Code: Collared shirts tucked in and no blue jeans. Hats must be worn forward. Soft spikes are also required. GPS: The use of a GPS and rangefinders will be allowed. Details on this will be covered at the rules meeting on Thursday evening. Programs​: Programs will be available at the tournament for no charge. **Please send a roster of your team to Dauna Bruce at dbruce@uinta1.com by no later than Monday, September 11th. We will place your team roster and logo in the Program, team pictures required. Spectator​ ​Areas: There will be a spectator sign-in table where spectator guidelines will be available. Spectators will be required to wear a spectator lanyard (provided) at all times. The WHSAA spectator rule 7.8.76 will be followed. WHSAA​ ​RULES​ ​OF​ ​PLAY The Class 4A WHSAA State Golf meet shall consist of 36 holes of medal play - 18 on Friday and 18 on Saturday. As per WHSAA Rule 7.8.68, in case of a tie in the team event (1st , 2 nd or 3 rd ) or in case of a tie for first place in the individual standings, the tie will be broken by a sudden death playoff. Team playoff procedures: Playoff will begin on hole #1. Draw for tee box honors. Alternate between teams until all players have taken their drive. All five players from each team will play the hole with the best four scores (boys) or three scores (girls) used to break the tie. If a tie still exists, continue on the next hole until tie is broken. Individual playoff procedure: Playoff will begin on hole #1. Draw for tee box honors. Play each hole until tie is broken. Coaches Supervising On Course of Play: As per WHSAA Rule 7.8.83, golf coaches are allowed to supervise on the golf course during play. This supervision and assignment is the responsibility of the Meet Director. There shall be a minimum of one adult monitor per hole at the State Meet. Coaches will not be allowed to play during the State Meet. The USGA rules shall prevail in the State Golf Meet. Please refer to the 2017-18 WHSAA Handbook, pages 52-54, for WHSAA Golf Rules and Regulations. Local rule sheets will be provided by the host site. AWARDS The top three teams will receive trophies. All awards will be presented at the end of play on Saturday. BUS​ ​PARKING There will be a team bus parking area.
